The berries, which have a deep purple color, are harvested from March to May, which once again makes berry pepper one of the most exclusive types of pepper. In Chile, Brazil and India, the bark of the shrub itself is increasingly used as a pepper substitute.

Patagonia Canelo berry pepper should definitely be crushed in a mortar or chopped with a knife and NOT ground in a pepper mill. When crushed or chopped, Patagonia Canelo berry pepper can develop its wonderful flavor to its full potential. This pepper specialty goes well with dark meat, game dishes, braised recipes, dips and sauces. Tip: Patagonia pepper also goes well with desserts with exotic fruits such as pineapple, mango or papaya thanks to its sweet notes - be brave and try it out, even with chocolatey versions! But always season your food with it at the end of cooking, because the flavor would be destroyed by heat.
