MANUFACTURE
Cultivation according to a well-thought-out crop rotation: Experts have been brought on board to ensure expert care of the estate and its crops. Support comes from Siegfried Zehetner (right) of Saatbau Erntegut GmbH, based in Kefermarkt, who already has experience with cultivated land and processing (drying, cleaning, and milling). The estate itself is managed by farmer Markus Harner. He is a neighbor of the Maiergut and is responsible for proper cultivation and harvesting.

USAGE
Caraway, with its strong flavor, is also suitable for seasoning (fatty) meat dishes such as roast goose, pork, or lamb, goulash, and braised dishes. It's also excellent for seasoning sauces, soups, vegetables, cheese, and salads, as well as bread, cakes, and pastries. No matter what you use it for, you'll find it whole or ground to make the most of your dishes. In the kitchen, this coriander pairs perfectly with fish, meat, and Christmas pastries such as gingerbread and speculaas, as well as with homemade bread. It's also a must-have in soups, stews, and curries, lending them a fresh touch.

GOOD TO KNOW

Home-grown produce at the "Maiergut" - In 2021, we brought the "Maiergut" in the Innviertel region of Upper Austria back to life. We are currently growing coriander and caraway on the 14-hectare site. In doing so, we are taking another step towards sustainability and are also putting the promotion of local agriculture and production at the forefront.

TASTE
Maiergut caraway is particularly aromatic and of excellent quality. Our coriander tastes pleasantly spicy and smells slightly nutty, with hints of orange. Its overall sweet aroma can be enhanced with the right dosage. Ground coriander seeds have nothing in common with fresh leaves, which even convinces coriander skeptics.
