Peel the onion (and garlic) and cut finely. Sauté in a little butter. Pour in milk and add to the bread cubes. Add eggs, spices and grated cheese and mix well. Allow to soak well for about 20 minutes.
Then form small dumplings, flatten them and bake them crispy brown in hot clarified butter.
