Caraway is used in hearty dishes. We know blood sausage gröstl and fried potatoes with caraway. By the way, the caraway oil is used in liqueurs and schnapps.

Ground or whole, in rolls or bread, with cheese and cheese salad, with vegetable stews or sauerkraut, in onion or potato soup, as well as with meat stews and sausages but also as a pickling spice.

Caraway tastes very spicy and aromatic. Caraway belongs to the umbelliferous family and is closely related to cumin, even if they have little in common in terms of taste.

manufacturing

Caraway grows wild in Central Europe on meadows and pastures and is often eaten by grazing animals. The spice can easily be grown in the garden and needs a moist and rather calcareous soil.
