Bengali pepper is a pepper specialty that is particularly diverse in its applications: its intense spicy note comes into its own in warm dishes, while in cold dishes its warm, sweet note stands out, which is a little reminiscent of ginger. In the kitchen, it goes well with meat, fish, cheese and wine sauces as well as with Asian and Indian dishes.
Due to the high proportion of essential oils, it also tastes intensely spicy, invigorating and yet pleasantly sweet, its smell is similar to that of wood and chilies.
Harvested in Indonesia, it is unique not only because of its elongated shape, reminiscent of rabbit kittens. Even the Romans appreciated the special Bengali pepper, but nowadays it is extremely difficult to get the extraordinary pepper in top quality. We at STAY SPICED ! therefore also have strict criteria that the Bengal pepper must meet – only then is it bottled in our spice cans.
